Editorial Responsibility
Gyronny Herald is an independent online publication edited and maintained by Michael McFarland Campbell, Mainistir Eimhín, Éire.
Articles may be published under the name of an individual writer or under the Gyronny Herald byline, depending on their nature.
Signed commentary, opinion and reflective pieces represent the views of their respective authors and do not necessarily represent the views of Gyronny Herald as a publication, nor those of any organisation with which an author is or has been associated.
Editorial decisions concerning publication, correction, amendment and removal of material remain with the Editor.
News, Commentary, Magazine and Reflections
Gyronny Herald publishes a mixture of news, commentary, magazine material and reflective writing.
News reports aim to distinguish factual reporting from opinion. Commentary and reflective pieces may contain personal interpretation, argument or perspective and will normally be presented as such.
Magazine pieces may include features, culture, heritage, books, music, photography and other subjects of general interest.
The inclusion of a quotation, statement, press release or external viewpoint does not necessarily imply endorsement by Gyronny Herald.
Sources and External Material
External sources are credited and linked wherever reasonably possible.
Information may be drawn from publicly available statements, press releases, official publications, public social-media posts, interviews and other appropriate sources.
Links to third-party websites are provided for reference and convenience. External websites may change, move or cease to exist, and Gyronny Herald cannot guarantee the continuing availability or accuracy of third-party content.
Reasonable efforts are made to distinguish original reporting from material supplied by organisations or other external sources.
Corrections and Updates
Gyronny Herald aims to correct significant factual errors when they are identified.
Where appropriate, published articles may be amended or updated to reflect corrections, clarifications or subsequent developments.
Requests concerning factual inaccuracies may be sent to:
Artificial Intelligence
Gyronny Herald may use artificial intelligence tools in a limited and editorially supervised way, particularly in the creation of illustrative images, graphics and similar visual material.
Editorial judgment remains with the human editor and contributors. Unless otherwise stated, written articles, commentary and reflections are written and edited by human authors.
AI-generated or AI-assisted visual material is used for illustration and presentation. It is not intended to mislead readers or to present fictional imagery as documentary evidence of real events, people or circumstances.
Where the use of artificial intelligence is significant to a particular item, this may be acknowledged in the article, image caption or accompanying information.
Images and Photography
Photographs used as documentary images should be identified and credited where appropriate.
Illustrative images, including AI-generated or AI-assisted material, may be used where a suitable documentary photograph is unavailable or where an article is conceptual, reflective or satirical in nature.
Captions and descriptions should make the illustrative nature of such images reasonably clear where there is a risk of confusion.
Language and Placenames
From August 2026, Gyronny Herald generally uses established Irish-language placenames for places on the island of Ireland.
For places elsewhere, Gyronny Herald generally uses the placename form customary in the country in which the place is located; for example, Bruxelles rather than Brussels.
This is an editorial house-style choice of Gyronny Herald and applies to material published from August 2026 onward.
Older articles may retain the placename forms used at the time of publication.
