Faith and Pride: Mephibosheth had two dads

After the turmoil surrounding David’s accession had calmed down, he asked “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” (2 Samuel 9:1). David was able to trace Mephibosheth and summoned him to court. Read the rest of the article over at Faith and Pride Continue reading Faith and Pride: Mephibosheth had two dads

Faith and Pride: against nature?

I just saw this on the BBC website. Same-sex pairs of monogamous birds are just as attached and faithful to each other as those paired with a member of the opposite sex. The post revealing which person in the Bible ad two dads will be next – I just thought that story was too interesting not to share. from Faith and Pride Continue reading Faith and Pride: against nature?

Jonathan Loved David

On Sunday 24 July, my husband Andrew delivered a talk in All Souls’ Church, Belfast as part of the inaugural Faith and Pride event during Belfast Pride Festival. Because of that diversity you can’t look at one part of the spectrum and judge the whole continuum based on one small sample. Similarly Christians are a diverse bunch. In Northern Ireland we have a number of big denominations… read the rest here. Continue reading blogged elsewhere: Diversity and Judgement

blogged elsewhere: My Own Journey

I grew up in a Christadelphian family, and in due course I was baptized and became a Christadelphian myself. I was about 17 at the time. A few years later, when I was in my early 20s, I realized I was gay. At the time I held “traditional” views about what the Bible said about same-sex relationships: I thought them to be totally wrong. Like a good Christadelphian I “searched the scriptures daily”, with the ill-formed idea that I might be able to convince other gay Christians that God wanted — required — them to be celibate. One day, and … Continue reading blogged elsewhere: My Own Journey
