It seems that the Culture, arts and leisure committee at Stormont is managing to tackle real issues. Today there is a call from the Committee to use townland names in postal addresses. They are saying that the address for the Northern Ireland Assembly would now be:

Anna Lo MLA – Northern Ireland Woman of the Year

With fewer Assembly Acts being passed in our Assembly than the other devolved administrations in the United Kingdom, the public looks on at the seemingly endless deadlock in the house on the hill at Stormont.

St Patrick’s College damaged by fire

Six a.m. in Belfast is like six a.m. in most cities, some people are getting up to go to work, others lying-on in their beds, others already at work. But Belfast of course is slightly different. Belfast has people out throwing petrol bombs. Take this morning, for instance, the Fire and Rescue Service and the Police were called to St Patrick’s College Bearnageeha on the Antrim Road in the north of the city following reports of a fire.
