Just after I watched the CNN interview with Bishop Andrew Burnham who is leaving the department of state called the ‘Church of England’ to be received into full communion with the Holy See, I noticed an advertisement for The Portal Magazine. Student Broad Left tries to interfere and gets it so wrong

After seeing and sharing a post about the NUS President closing registrations for a Black students’ event in London, I looked further at what Student Broad Left are about. I found the following sentence. Justice for Ireland: for equality, civil rights and a just peace. For the full implementation of the Good Friday Agreement. Support for Irish self-determination and to bring an end to Britain’s role in that country. I don’t know which Good Friday Agreement they were reading – but it does not call for an end to Britain’s role in Ireland. winter fuel payment – not a solution, but a temporary fix

With the news that HM Government in the United Kingdom is looking at slashing the Winter Fuel payments to those over 60 years of age, there has been quite a lot of comment on this proposal*.

Whilst reading Caron’s Musings having met her and her daughter Anna (who was signed up to the Liberal Democrats by me at the weekend), I remembered that Trevor Lunn MLA had done something about this inequality back in 2008.
