The Sun doesn’t recognise Northern Ireland as part of the UK.

Just been registering on The Sun website in order to vote in their poll on the Referendum in May – but have come across a snag.

They have just asked me (in order that I can vote):

Thesunfail

4. Which of the following is your ITV region? If you receive more than one, which would you say is your main region?

Scotland (Including Grampian, Border, Scottish)

Tyne Tees (North East)

Granada TV (North West)

Yorkshire (Yorkshire)

Central TV (Wales and West Midlands)

Anglia TV (East of England)

West Country TV (South West)

Meridian (South and South East)

Carlton TV/LWT (London and Great London)

I do not live in the UK.

One problem None of these allow me to answer correctly. I live in the Ulster Television ITV region – but it is not even listed. And Northern Ireland is not outside the UK.
How dare The Sun not recognise Northern Ireland.
I have just sent an email to the Editor of The Sun which reads:

Dear Editor,
I have just been encouraged to take part in the Poll on The Sun’s website about the Referendum in May on the Voting System for Parliament.
Finding that I had to register to vote on your website, I duly went ahead and signed up. Sadly I have hit a snag.
I cannot answer question 4 on http://www.sunvote.co.uk/go/profile/questions honestly.
The answers given do not allow me to say that I live in the Ulster TV region, and I cannot say that I do not live in the UK when Northern Ireland (in which I live) is not in the UK.
This is blatant discrimination against the views of the people of Northern Ireland, and I will be making sure that this is highlighted on my blog and my facebook. I trust that this discriminatory error can be fixed as soon as possible.
I would like to hear from you as to why this is the case.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Carchrie Campbell.
