At Rome, St Aloysius Gonzaga, Cleric of the Society of Jesus, Confessor, highly renowned for his contempt of a princedom and for his innocence of life. He was inscribed in the list of the Saints and declared the Protector especially of young students by Pope Benedict ⅩⅢ; Pope Pius Ⅺ confirmed this and again solemnly declared him to be the heavenly Patron of all Christian youth.
