Most couples tie the knot once in their life. Some people get to have two ceremonies: the civil one and the religious one. Rarely do couples get the opportunity for more.
Today, my husband Andrew and I got that opportunity.
Today, essentially we upgraded our civil partnership which was formed in Belfast to a marriage formed in Dublin. Thank you to everyone who came. Thank you to everyone who wanted to but couldn’t. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the first five years.
But for me, mostly a huge thank you to Andrew for continuing to be my husband.
A change of name.
Just under five years ago, following our civil partnership (Wedding No. 1) Andrew changed his surname to combine his and half of mine. From today, I am changing mine to that which he now has.
From today, my surname is McFarland Campbell. I am sure it will take some time this to take effect in all places both online and in normal life, but that is what it will be.

Congratulations and don’t worry, you get accustomed to the new name in no time and from experience your surroundings as well.
Insurances, Banks and other institutions tend to be a bit tardy in this though.
