Last Saturday, the Labour Party held its conference in Mullingar. The conference’s theme was Building an Equal Society, which surely is what the Labour movement is all about across the world.
Labour has set out their core goals: a Living Wage for all workers, collective bargaining rights, rent caps and a rent freeze, building 80,000 homes, continued investment in primary healthcare, genuinely free education starting at primary level, and significant investment in state enterprises to drive a real transformation of the economy to reduce carbon emissions while creating the sustainable jobs of the future.

We need to get the message out that Labour is offering a real alternative to three and half years of depressing, ineffectual partnership government by Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil. It is time to end the current Dáil, and Labour is ready for the next general election as soon as it comes.
I look forward to the next general election where I know that I will be voting for a Labour candidate. Unfortunately, although I have a vote in Northern Ireland in the UK Parliamentary General Election on 12th December 2019, I am unable to vote for a UK Labour candidate as there is none in the North.
