Stephen has problems with language…

Stephen Glenn has made comment about the comments of others surrounding the use of language in the past few days. But perhaps we should question his own use of language… On LGBT+ Lib Dems Northern Ireland he says: In some countries like Spain for example the Priest is not apple to marry anyone (as such) that has been carried out by a government employee already. FLAGS: continuing the good work…

As many will know, I was elected chairman of FLAGS, I’ve been outlining some of my thoughts on this election. It is important that all adult volunteers in Scouting feel valued and supported. We are looking at holding more weekend events in the coming year to assist with that support. It is my hope that some of these events will be able to introduce new skills and activities to members of FLAGS who are active leaders with Scouts up and down the country. Back in March I was pleased that the Faith Mission Shop in Queen Street, Belfast had removed Chick Tracts from sale given the homophobic views expressed in them. Yesterday I was disappointed with Faith Mission.

After my blog post in March I had gone in to see this for myself. Whilst there I asked if there were any books on living with HIV – as there were many on living with cancer. I was pointed to a small section marked ‘ethics’. At this point I saw three words next to each other on a shelf which was immediately below the shelf marked ‘Homosexuality‘.
