Sorting through some books and I found a copy of The Hackney Scout Song Book which once belonged to my grandfather. It is just the right size to go in a pocket. It even has a supplement of Hymns for Use in Camp which has a section for November 11th.

My grandfather, a King’s Scout and Scouter was born on 25th October 1919, nearly twelve months after his uncle Cpl John Bovey died on 11th November 1918 in northern France with the Royal Field Artillery. Another treasured possession is my great great uncle’s pocket book.

As we move towards Remembrance, both of them who served their King and Country in time of War will be in my thoughts. I am sure we all have memories and loved ones to remember.
