It seems that the dark days of the killing of soldiers by republicans in Northern Ireland have returned.

The news that two military personnel are dead, and that two others and two civilians are injured and in hospital following an attack on Massereene Army Barracks in Antrim, has completed stunned me.

It seems that Sir Hugh Orde’s request for assistance from the Special Reconnaissance Regiment on gathering intelligence on dissident republicans was indeed timely. 

Let’s pray for peace, and for the families of all who were shot in Antrim tonight.
